Don't Put Your Selfie At Risk

Selfies, they're all fun and games right? That is until somebody gets hurt.

According to Mashable, a new report says that in 2015, selfies have killed more people than sharks! This year alone, 12 people have died in selfie accidents, compared to only eight people who have died from shark attacks.

The average person may take a quick photo while on vacation, maybe out with friends, or maybe because they like their outfit of the day. But nowadays you'll find people going to great lengths just to get the right shot.

Some people have taken selfies with wild animals, high in the air, or even with weapons. Sadly in the world we live in, many of these photos have gone viral. What's sadder though is that lives are being put at risk and even worse, some lives have even been lost...all in the name of a selfie.

I'm sure the 12 people who have died this year, as well as the 11 others who died in 2014,  didn't anticipate their actions leading to death. But in light of that, it reminds us that life is precious. Life is a gift from God - something that we should not take for granted and that we should handle with care.

And when you're willing to put your life in danger, all to take a "cool selfie," it begs the question, is the risk really worth it?
